# Crosspoint > Crosspoint is a software KVM for macOS and Windows: one mouse, keyboard and clipboard shared across computers on the same local network. Move the cursor off the edge of one screen and it continues on the next computer. No account and no cloud; everything travels directly between the user's own computers, encrypted. Key facts: - Platforms: macOS 13+ (Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows 10/11 64-bit. Linux is planned after version 1. - Control works in both directions with no setup: every computer can control every other one. Using a computer's own mouse takes control back immediately. - Pairing: computers find each other on the network (or are added by IP address) and pair with a 6-digit code (SPAKE2). Traffic is QUIC with pinned certificates. - Release hotkey: Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Esc brings control home from anywhere. Cursor Lock: Scroll Lock. Game Mode: Ctrl+Alt+G. All configurable. - Shortcut translation: Cmd+C on a Mac keyboard becomes Ctrl+C on Windows and vice versa (Cmd+Tab, word jumps, Home/End and more). - Clipboard: text, rich text (HTML) and images, both ways. Content marked sensitive by password managers is never sent. - Files (Pro): copy in Finder/Explorer and paste on the other computer, or Send files. Resumes after dropped connections; BLAKE3-verified. Saved to Downloads/Crosspoint. - Other features: screen layout editor with snapping and saved profiles, dimming of inactive screens, lock and wake sync (Pro), latency graph and debug report in Diagnostics, automatic signed updates. - Pricing: free for 2 computers (mouse, keyboard, clipboard, shortcuts, layout). Pro is a one-time purchase adding unlimited computers, file transfer, Game Mode and lock sync. License keys are verified offline. - Network: UDP port 24900. Guest and many office networks block discovery; add by IP address instead. - macOS permissions: Input Monitoring and Accessibility ("Device Control and Data Access" on the newest macOS). ## Docs - [Getting started](https://crosspoint.click/docs/): install, permissions, pairing, arranging screens, everyday use - [Troubleshooting](https://crosspoint.click/docs/troubleshooting.html): discovery, firewall, macOS permissions, stuck control, file transfers - [Privacy](https://crosspoint.click/privacy.html): what stays local and what (little) goes online ## Download - [Latest release](https://github.com/Crosspointclick/crosspoint-releases/releases/latest): macOS .dmg and Windows installer
