Getting started
Two computers on the same network, Crosspoint on both, about a minute.
1. Install on each computer
Download Crosspoint for macOS and Windows and install it on every computer you want to share the mouse with. Open it; it keeps running in the menu bar (Mac) or the system tray (Windows).
2. Allow access on a Mac
macOS asks for two permissions. Setup shows both and moves on by itself once they are allowed:
- Input Monitoring: lets Crosspoint see the mouse reach a screen edge.
- Accessibility, called Device Control and Data Access on the newest macOS: lets Crosspoint move the cursor and type.
Both are in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Windows needs nothing extra.
3. Pair
Each computer lists the others it finds on the network. Click Pair on one; the other shows a 6-digit code. Type it in and they're paired for good. The code proves both sides are yours; after that the connection is encrypted with keys only these two computers hold.
4. Arrange
Say which side the other computer sits on, or drag the screens on the Layout page to match your desk. The cursor crosses wherever screens touch, at the matching height.
Everyday use
- Cross: move the cursor off the edge toward the other screen.
- Take back: just use the other computer's own mouse or trackpad. It takes control right away.
- Come home from anywhere: Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Esc.
- Cursor Lock: Scroll Lock keeps the cursor on the computer it's on, e.g. while drawing near an edge.
- Copy and paste: copy on one computer, cross, paste. Files work the same way with Pro.
- Shortcuts: Cmd+C on a Mac keyboard works as Ctrl+C on the PC and the other way around. Turn this off in Settings if you prefer.
- Game Mode (Pro): Ctrl+Alt+G while controlling the other computer sends raw mouse movement for games.
All hotkeys can be changed in Settings.
Pro
The free version covers two computers. A Pro license key adds more computers, file transfer, Game Mode and lock sync. Paste the key in Settings → License on each computer. It's checked on the computer itself; no account and no internet needed.
