GET STARTED

Install Crosspoint

Install the app on every computer you want to share. It takes about a minute on each.

What you need

  • Mac: macOS 13 Ventura or later. One download runs on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
  • Windows: a 64-bit (x64) PC. Windows on ARM isn’t supported yet.
  • All computers on the same network, for example the same Wi‑Fi or office network.

On a Mac

  1. Download Crosspoint for Mac from the Download page and open the .dmg.
  2. Drag Crosspoint into Applications, then open it.
  3. If macOS says it can’t check the app, right-click Crosspoint in Applications and choose Open, or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. You only do this once.

Allow the two Mac permissions

Setup asks for two permissions. Without them macOS doesn’t let any app share your mouse and keyboard.

  • Input Monitoring: lets Crosspoint see your mouse reach a screen edge.
  • Accessibility (called Device Control and Data Access on the newest macOS): lets Crosspoint move the cursor and type on this Mac.

Click Open Settings next to each one, turn Crosspoint on, and come back. Setup checks every couple of seconds and moves on by itself. Later you can see both in Crosspoint under Settings → macOS permissions.

After an update, if both permissions look on but the cursor or keys don’t work on the Mac, remove Crosspoint from both lists with the − button and add it again.

On Windows

  1. Download Crosspoint for Windows from the Download page. There is an installer (.exe) and an .msi for managed installs.
  2. Run it and follow the steps. No restart is needed.
  3. When Windows Firewall asks about crosspoint-service, allow it on private networks. If your network is set to Public, switch it to Private in Windows Settings → Network & internet.

First launch

The first time you open Crosspoint, a short setup walks you through:

  1. Welcome, where you can also skip setup.
  2. Permissions (Mac only).
  3. Pair: the other computers it finds, or an IP address. See Connect two computers.
  4. Arrange: say whether the other computer is left, right, above or below this one.
  5. Done.

Crosspoint then lives in the menu bar (Mac) or the system tray (Windows). Closing its window only hides it; sharing keeps running. To start it with your computer, turn on Start Crosspoint when I sign in in Settings.

Updates

Open About in the app and click Check for updates. If there is a new version, click Install and restart. Updates are signed, and the app checks the signature before installing.

Update every computer you use with Crosspoint. Computers on different versions can refuse to connect until they match.
